JAMES MALCOLM

About Me

James Malcolm is an actor based in the Boston area. Growing up in the small town of Tewksbury, MA, he quickly rejected the idea of a typical 9-to-5 lifestyle and became drawn to film and television at a young age hoping to follow in the footsteps of his heroes on the big screen. This was all but confirmed when James attended an open casting call at the Burlington Mall for the Kevin James film Here Comes the Boom. While the film was only seeking extras at this time, this was more than enough for his first taste of the industry.

The actor attended UMass Lowell, majoring in English and Creative Writing. It was here that he engaged in creative writing workshops and completed courses in fiction, comedy and drama – all of which have helped him develop the tools necessary to craft compelling characters.

After graduating in 2014, James began investing all of his time and energy into acting. He built his resume and experience by acting in student films with Emerson College, MassArt, Boston University and other local film programs before starring in short films such as G. Michael Fortin’s Memoria and Jared Jorge’s The Inner Lock on the New England festival circuit. James also took acting classes at Boston Casting’s Media Performance Institute and currently studies with acting coach and industry veteran Bill Stanitsas at HollywoodEast Talent.

Over the past few years, the actor has had dozens of starring roles in films, commercials and music videos. Recently James took on a supporting role in the Nick Valaskatgis sci-fi thriller feature Uncanny Harbor, which filmed on the North Shore of Massachusetts and had its world premiere at the Larcom Theatre in Beverly, MA in February of 2020.

Currently, James still resides in New England and continues to act in projects spanning across all genres.
